How to Create Enemies
Jan 7, 2004

IRVINE, CA--The Bush administration should demand that the new Afghan constitution, as well as any future Iraqi constitution, irrevocably separate state and religion.

The creation of another Islamic theocracy is an invitation to state-sponsored terrorism that will be directed at Americans. It would be criminal on the administration's part to have gone to war to overthrow an Islamic theocracy hostile to America just to replace it with another.

It makes no difference that the new Afghan constitution declares Afghanistan an Islamic state but outlaws terrorism. Iran's constitution does exactly the same, but it is still the most active state sponsor of terrorism in the world today.

Unless the Bush administration reverses its policies now, it's "War on Terrorism" will be responsible for creating two Islamic theocracies that will no doubt soon join Iran in doing much more than calling America "The Great Satan."
