God Bans Newspapers In Iran
          Dec 13, 2001

Marina del Rey--Iran's judiciary has apparently received a communication from God to shut down more than 50 Iranian newspapers.

Abbas-Ali Alizadeh, top administrator of Iran's judiciary, declared, "One of our greatest glories is closure of offending newspapers. [B]y doing this, we have done the greatest service to the people. When you do a job for the sake of God, defeat is meaningless."

"The defeat of freedom is never meaningless," said Dr. Yaron Brook, executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute. "Iran's tyrannical regime is the foremost source of mid-east terrorism and the leader of the Islamic fundamentalist movement.  The closures of the newspapers, all of which advocated reform, is but more evidence of the regime's commitment to the destruction of freedom--and so reinforces the need to make Iran our next target in the war against terrorism.

"And as evidenced by scores of riots all over Iran recently, particular by the young," Dr. Brook added, "the majority of Iranians want to be rid of these fanatics and would welcome our help. We should urge our government to target the enemies of freedom in Iran next."
