Washington, D.C.--The environmentalists' opposition to ANWR is harmful to human life, charge Dr. Andrew Bernstein of ARI and Nick Provenzo, chairman of CMDC.
In a press conference at the National Press Club on April 20 Bernstein and Provenzo will explain why we should exploit the ANWR for oil, and why Earth Day's theme of blaming the gasoline-powered automobile for helping to destroy the earth spotlights environmentalism's hatred of industrial society, human progress, and human life.
"Automobiles power industrial civilization, without them there would be little commerce, freedom, or human life as we know it," said Bernstein. "The goal of the environmentalists is to save the earth from man, while the goal of the industrialists is to exploit the earth for man."
"Oil is the very lifeblood of modern civilization," said Provenzo. "As oil is drained from the arteries of American commerce by environmentalists, we lose the energy to sustain human life: to heat our homes, to harvest our fields, to transport food, and to light the laboratories that help save the lives of countless millions. Restricting the production of oil for the sake of keeping a vast wilderness frozen is an immoral attack on human life."
ARI is cooperating with CMDC in a campaign to highlight Earth Day's inhumanity to man and to promote the life-sustaining values of industry and technology. This second annual national campaign will climax with a demonstration at the Washington Monument on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22.
