MARINA DEL REY, CA -- For a dramatic and unique interpretation of today's headlines, interview Robert W. Tracinski:
Driving Employers Crazy
"The low point of the Clinton administration's war on American businesses is its absurd claim that sanity should not be a relevant consideration in hiring," said Robert W. Tracinski, responding to President Clinton's executive order that people with psychiatric disabilities be covered by the same hiring standards as people with physical disabilities.
Peace Deal in Kosovo
"No American peacekeeping troops should be in Kosovo," Tracinski said. "American soldiers and American money should be used only to defend America's interests, not to altruistically serve others."
Gun Control Bill in Congress
Reacting to today's introduction of the gun control bill before the House Judiciary Committee, Tracinski said, "The real solution is not to control guns, but to ensure that innocent Americans have the right and ability to defend themselves."
Violence in Hollywood
"Children are not robots who see violence and thus become violent people, but individuals with free will who need to be taught the difference between moral and immoral violence," Mr. Tracinski said.
Republican Division in Congress
In response to Republican infighting, Tracinski said, "The GOP's leadership rift is a direct result of its rejection of principles -- and specifically its retreat from any opposition to big government. The Republicans can't lead because they don't stand for anything."
Robert W. Tracinski was a senior writer for the Ayn Rand Institute between 1997 and 2004.
