Shoshana Milgram

Dr. Milgram is an associate professor of English at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Virginia State University and specializes in 19th- and 20th-century fiction (English, French and Russian). She has published articles on Anton Chekhov, Fyodor Dostoevsky, George Eliot, John Fowles, Henry James, Victor Hugo, Vladimir Nabokov, Ayn Rand, George Sand, Herbert Spencer, Leo Tolstoy and others. Her essay on capitalism appears in Jean-Charles Seigneuret's reference work, Literary Themes and Motifs (1988). She has taught courses in film, literary theory, science fiction, and Western civilization. She lectures on Romanticism at the National Council of Teachers of English Conference. Dr. Milgram gave a lecture series on Ayn Rand's novels at the Smithsonian Institution in the spring of 1997.
