The Ayn Rand Institute is excited to announce that, effective February 26, Second Renaissance Inc., which ran The Ayn Rand Bookstore and produced Objectivist conferences, has been acquired and will be operated by the Institute out of its Irvine offices.
The Ayn Rand Bookstore, a mail order and Web-based enterprise, specializes in taped lectures and courses by Ayn Rand, Dr. Leonard Peikoff and other Objectivists.
ARI will also continue the practice of holding regular educational conferences with lectures and courses based on Ayn Rand's ideas.
This summer's conference, from July 5 to July 17, will take place at the Pacific Palms Conference Resort, in the City of Industry, California, with Dr. Leonard Peikoff as the keynote speaker. Dr. Peikoff is scheduled to deliver two general lectures: "The Axioms of Induction" and "Induction Through Experimentation: Galileo." Also included will be a two-part lecture by Dr. John Ridpath on the 19th-century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche; and two lectures by Mary Ann Sures applying the Objectivist esthetics to the art of sculpture.
A new Ayn Rand Bookstore catalog is in production along with an Objectivist Summer Conference catalog. Both will become available soon, along with complete Web registration for the conference.
