To the Editor:
James Goldsborough argues that we can't attack Iraq because that will cause Bush's coalition to collapse.
The purpose of the U.S. government is to defend American lives and liberty. If a coalition prevents us from doing this, then the coalition SHOULD collapse.
It is simply bizarre to treat coalitions as ends in themselves, as if maintaining one is more important than saving American lives.
