The Foiled Terror Plots in Germany and Denmark
David Holcberg (Hawaii Reporter, Sept. 17, 2007)

The arrest of a group of Muslims trained in Pakistan and planning terrorist attacks in Germany and Denmark reminds us that there are zealots out there engaged in a global jihad against America and the West--and that they are motivated by their religious beliefs.

While we should be grateful for the excellent police work that led to the capture of these would-be murderers, we should not forget that the greatest threat we face comes not from isolated terror cells but from Islamic states that sponsor terrorism. These states provide jihadis all over the world with weapons, training, protection and a moral sanction that serves to justify their murderous attacks.

Until Western nations put an end to the terror-sponsoring regimes in Iran and Saudi Arabia, Islamic terrorists around the world will not get the message that their cause is doomed, and that their self-sacrificial efforts can bring them nothing but their own destruction.
