Stop Appeasing and Start Attacking Iran

IRVINE, CA—"The U.S. offer of holding direct talks with Iran is supposedly a shrewd gambit, but it is a moral outrage," said Dr. Yaron Brook, executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute.

"The offer is yet another appeasing concession to a hostile regime, which our government classifies an arch sponsor of Islamist terrorism.

"The mere offer of direct talks with the United States, even if rejected, already grants Iran's belligerent theocracy an unearned respect.

"Defenders claim that by exhausting all diplomatic options, America can pressure Iran to end its dash for nuclear weapons--or conclusively show that Iran is unserious about diplomacy. Yet Iran's motives are obvious. And, in either case, Iran gains more time to advance its weapons program--covertly, after accepting the 'incentives,' or blatantly, while the West dithers over how to word its toothless U.N. resolutions.
